About Tirupati Police: During the year 2010, Tirumala, Tirupati and Srikalahasti Sub-divisions are tagged together and formed as Urban Police District, Tirupati G.O.Ms. No. 137 Dated: 8-6-2010.
Further Tirupati District formed from a part of erstwhile Chittoor District and a part from erstwhile SPSR Nellore District on 4th April 2022, when the districts re-organized in Andhra Pradesh vide Gazette No.497, G.No.40, dt. 03-04-2022 and G.O.Ms. No.198, Revenue (Lands-IV), 2nd April 2022, with headquarters at Tirupati, for better administration.
Tirupati District has been formed with the Police jurisdiction of 53 Police Stations, 11 Circle Offices and 8 Sub-division Police Offices, 34 Mandals, with Four Revenue Divisions. The total area extent is 9174 Sq. KMs and the total population is 22.18 lakhs.
Tirupati District is surrounded by SPSR Nellore District, Chittoor District, Annamayya District, Tamilnadu State and Bay of Bengal.
