1. The following steps have been taken to prevent crime against women i.e., eve teasing and other Women harassments for women safety in UPD, Tirupati.

  2. Mahila Rakshak Teams and She Team being used to create awareness and also to respond immediately to issues pertaining to girls in distress.

  3. Dial 100 and Tirupati Police Whats App No. 8099999977 are platforms for emergency response system and the information of their existence is being widely disseminated in public.

  4. Awareness programmes have been regularly conducted for Girls and in all Educational institutions, welfare hostels, etc.

  5. Mahila Rakshak teams are organizing visible policing activities in selected areas having educational institutions.

  6. Identifying the missing children/vagabonds and joining them in shelter homes i.e. Abhaya kshethram, Akshya kshethram, PASS,RASS and etc organizations and handing over them to their family members.

  7. Complaint boxes being arranged in schools/colleges and other educational institutions.

  8. Wide publicity is being given in both print and electronic media about the latest amendments of Acts and Rules related to Girls and also awareness is being created through distribution of Pamphlets, erecting posters/flexes etc.

  9. KOMAL video being played in all Schools and Colleges with the NGOs and concerned authorities.

  10. All the SHO’s conducting meetings in their respective jurisdiction about the awareness of the laws and punishments in view of crime against women/children with the help of Mandal Legal Service Authority.

  11. "SHE BOT" web application was launched in the district for women/girls as a preliminary assistance facilitation platform.

  12. Awareness programmes were conducted for Girls and Women in all Educational institutions, welfare hostels, colonies, apartments, villages etc.

For Children

Protect your children-

  1. Never leave your child alone in a public place, whether in a stroller or a car. Always accompany your child to the bathroom in a public place.

  1. Get to know babysitters and your child’s older friends before leaving them alone with your child. Make a list of emergency telephone numbers.

  2. Place the list where it is easily accessible to the entire family, preferably near the telephone.

  3. Prepare a written emergency safety plan and ensure that all family members understand it by practicing the plan from time to time.

  4. Once a month, check that safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and alarms are working.

Teach your children

  1. To recite their own name, age, telephone number, area code, address, city and province.

  2. To carry identification.

  3. How to phone long distance by dialing direct or with operator assistance.How to reach you in an emergency.

  4. How to reach the Police, Fire department, ambulance, family doctor, relatives, and neighbors.

  5. To tell you where they will be at all times.

  6. Never to say they are alone if they answer the phone or door. Never to invite strangers into your home. Not to enter anyone’s home without permission.
